Saalbeleuchtung im Raimundtheater
Hall lighting in the Raimund Theater Vienna
The Raimund Theater in Vienna was renovated and LDDE was allowed to design, deliver and install the hall lighting. The task was to develop suitable lighting for the hall according to the specifications of the architect Mramor and the lighting director of the Raimundtheater Gustav Vychron. Furthermore, the dimmer system should be brought up to date and generously expanded.
The special requirements, a central position in the hall for the lighting, were met by an innovative concept for a new chandelier. A number of measures and a large number of new luminaires expanded the hall lighting in accordance with the specifications.
The existing basket lights were equipped with DimmToWarm LED lamps and the appropriate DC dimmers. An LED luminaire with 12 individually controllable LEDs, powder-coated in the desired RAL color, already in the LDDE portfolio, was used for the wall lamps.
The central chandelier was realized as a symmetrical oval with four by twelve lights, each arranged in a ring, individually adjustable and dimmable. The associated MVC-16 dimmers were installed in a 19 “cabinet in the attic above the visitor room.
Also from the cupboard in the attic, four hanging lights, positioned in the stage portal, each with three individually adjustable and dimmable spotlights, were controlled by MVC-16 dimmers. These shine in the front rows in the stalls, or the orchestra pit and the two side areas in the 2nd tier.
The ceiling light was implemented with wide-angled VERO spotlights, which were mounted so that they can be rotated and swiveled. Thanks to the diffuser film, even illumination of the rear parquet area and the rear area of the 1st tier could be achieved. These spotlights can also be dimmed individually.
For the stage area, the dimmer system was expanded to include two dimmer cabinets, each with 108 channels, 16A each, positioned in the technical rooms in the 1st tier, and a cabinet with 36 channels each 16A, positioned in the basement.
The work light can now be controlled via a touch panel on the stage. or a second touch panel in the lighting control or from the central lighting desk. The old control with on and off buttons was replaced by control with DMX relay modules.
All lighting circuits are combined in their own DMX universe and are controlled from the central lighting desk. Communication takes place via DMX nodes and the fiber optic in-house network of the theater.
