Herzerlbaum, Vienna

The Herzerlbaum (“tree of hearts”) is one of the best-known light installations of the Vienna Christmas Market on Rathausplatz. Every year, around 200 illuminated hearts transform a plane tree in the Rathauspark into a symbol of the Christmas season visible from afar. For this project, LDDE developed and manufactured the purpose-built LED hearts, which stand out for their even illumination, high energy efficiency and weather resistance.
