Sisi Museum – Hofburg Vienna

As part of the redesign of the Sisi Museum in the Vienna Hofburg in 2009, the existing exhibition was comprehensively revised and technically modernised. The exhibition design and scenography were by the renowned stage designer Prof. Rolf Langenfass, who had already been responsible for the original design of the museum when it opened in 2004.

A key part of the redesign was the atmospheric staging of the historic exhibits, costumes and figurines. The lighting was also modernised, using energy-efficient LED technology. The light supports the dramatic effect of the individual rooms and deliberately highlights the exhibits without overpowering the historic atmosphere of the Imperial Apartments.
