Unbowed and Unafraid – Peter Sandbichler

The eight-metre-high sculpture “unbowed and unafraid” by Peter Sandbichler was realised in front of the MuseumsQuartier Wien in 2009. The portrait of the Sri Lankan journalist and human rights activist Lasantha Wickrematunge is worked into the vertical spruce boards. Illumination from within emphasises the transparency and three-dimensionality of the structure, especially at night.
